- brilllllliant move making fun of various launch video formats
- love the self awareness
- the skydiving scene and one at the end feel very authentic
- great script in the beginning
- good social proof
- "this stuff never works" for the "comment weave" give away part is sooo good. I hate those.
- amazing animation and music aligning to different styles
but
- got a little lost with all the switching
- could have used large text on screen to chop up features and stuff
- "I got one more idea" - was thinking it was gonna be another funny thing
- text should have been bigger on the skydiving scene
this video was needed. with so many people trying so hard to get attention with different approaches, a little humor helps.
parody is a very classic format - airplane, scary movie, and many other great works throughout history do it. was a matter of time before it came to launch videos.
good for them that they were the first to really nail it. would say that parodies are still a great format even though they did.
if I were these guys, I would make parody part of their launch video brand. and do this again and again. it never gets old and theres sooooo much more you can do.
