ok here's my honest self-review of our launch video

  • very original (have never seen the music + product video combo before)
  • typography is nice (good distinction between main serif, TV music/gameshow captions, and normal captions)
  • good use of AI (esp the background in talking heads)
  • sound fx and music is great and lines up perfectly with the script
  • good scroll stopper
  • nice editing (esp transitions between TV and main shots)

but

  • script needs work. underoptimized and redundant (lots of lists with "and it even xyz")
  • some parts rough around the edges (screen recordings, ending, etc has artifacts)
  • talking head shots overexposed
  • music/sound needs processing (volume, EQ, compression)
  • should get to the actual product and statement faster
  • some AI jankiness (e.g. "family feed" vs "feud")
  • founder could use some acting coaching :)
  • may have wanted to go with a more serious tone. makes the bold claim more trustworthy and privacy should be taken seriously for AI that remembers so much about you
  • the product shots are a little hard to follow or aren't as brain exploding that they should be
  • could have cut some fluff and gone deeper on the benchmark & examples of its amazing memory

this was the first video I've done entirely myself (though I had help shooting and color-grading the talking head parts), and I'm honestly proud of how it came out despite its flaws.

I'm most happy to have been able to merge my passions for music/songwriting and tech here.

the best launch videos are ones that reflect the personality and vision of the founder so much that it would be impossible for anyone else to copy.

this video is very much me: happy, sunny, chaotic, ADHD, funny, weird, approachable, musical, imperfect.

best advice for myself going forward to to keep being me but balance it more with what viewers and customers need to feel what I feel about our product.

thanks to everyone else who reviewed this video as well. next one will be a 5/5 :)
