clean cut launch video

  • nice animations
  • good shots of the founder
  • love "quite F*ing literally"
  • good big numbers "millions of messages in 5 min"
  • personification is spot on with the story
  • generally really dialed in script

but

  • no one cares about your vision if it doesn't relate to their problems directly, would rephrase or not lead with this
  • don't love the budget trap music in the background. feels cookie cutter and out of place
  • weird empty space when music cuts out (seems like an editing error)
  • some big words here and there that aren't necessary
  • have seen this pitch and these features a lot lately on X. this audience needs to know what's special.

good reminder that no matter how many followers you have or how long you've been in market, no one cares about your vision unless its about them.

if you're the Nth company to launch the same product in a space like Lindy is with Slack Agents, asserting "this has been our vision from the beginning" is very tempting if true. it sucks when other people steal your thunder, but its irrelevant details that come off defensive.

in these cases you can do a few things:

  • emphasize a feature that truly makes it different - lindy has tons and tons of integrations they've worked hard on, this feels way under discussed. "most reliable AI employee" could be a good pitch
  • build in public - opportunity is to share about your journey and reaction to the market. Lindy has pivoted a ton and its something every founder goes through, so it would be very viral and relatable to share that.

generally I would say that this video is one of the best executed "standard" launch videos. it doesn't come off overly try-hard or clickbaity like many others in this style, and still gets the point across really clearly.

I also appreciate how often flo gets in front of the camera. this is the way.
